What to Wear

What to wear - Prepare for your session

1. Wear clothing that is comfortable and fits your style.
2. Avoid busy prints that distract from your face, or any type of graphic tee unless you are ok with looking at it 20 years from now! Homer Simpson tee shirts or vulgar/explicit prints should probably be saved for another day.
3. Solids or soft prints are great!  They aren't distracting and usually photograph very well.
4. Bring several changes of shoes.  You aren't going to want to trek across the mud to that really cool looking rock at the edge of the river in heels, but you might want to wear them once you get there.
5. Bring a few changes of clothes. We will be shooting a lot and while inconvenient to change clothes, you'll be glad you did.
6. Bring props and accessories if you want.  The more the merrier. We will find a way to use them!
7. Remember a hairbrush. If it's windy, you'll need it.
8.  Bring a good attitude, a big smile, and lots of ideas for your images!

For Newborns:
1. Baby calls the shots! We will take as little or as much time as needed to make sure your baby is comfortable, fed, happy, and sleepy.
2. Not all poses are always possible.  Some newborns absolutely will not tolerate knit hats, some are fine with them, some refuse to sleep if unclothed, and so on. The newer the baby, the more tolerant they tend to be.  We will make sure baby is as comfortable as possible and I will never put your child in any danger.
3. Expect to participate.  I will ask you to sit near, place your hands on, and even join in some photos. This is to assure your baby will remain absolutely safe at all times during the photo session.
4.  Pee happens.  And it will.  Bring extra diapers, lots of wipes and several changes of clothes. Most likely you'll need all of them. :)
5. Relax.  Baby is top priority. If you spend 2 hours and 45 minutes soothing your child and I only shoot for 15 minutes, it's ok.  I'm not worried nor in any hurry.  I will do my best to capture your memories in a manner that you'll be happy with, but as stated above, baby's needs come first.
